About Me

I am a dedicated human services specialist in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, with over two years of experience helping immigrants and individuals with disabilities access essential support, including financial, nutritional, legal, and housing needs.

Balancing Work and Online Education: My Experience at Purdue Global

I effectively manage both school and work simultaneously through excellent time management, giving my full effort to both.
Since I started my degree at Purdue Global in November 2023, I have not called in sick at work or missed any workdays, all while maintaining a GPA of 3.77. Purdue Global offers an online program designed for working adults, and most of my classmates are active military personnel or law enforcement officers. I only have two hours of class per week, which allows me to effectively manage my time to complete assignments. This format is perfect for me because I don’t have to waste time commuting to class; I can simply click online. This arrangement has contributed to my success both at work and in school.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Legal Support and Services – Paralegal, Purdue University Global, Nov 2023-2027, Cumulative GPA: 3.77
  • Associate in Arts (AA) in philosophy, Port Au Prince, Haiti Ecole Normale Supérieure (UEH), May 2020

I use crisis management skills to prevent clients from losing their housing and assist them in applying for public programs that can help with housing costs. Additionally, I coordinate with team members, such as case managers, financial workers, and landlords, to provide comprehensive support.

I managed a caseload of newly arrived refugees, conducting intake sessions and providing cultural orientation. I facilitated access to both cash and food assistance for their families, as well as support for healthcare, housing, Social Security, English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for parents, and school enrollment for children. I ensured that all newly arrived refugees had suitable housing, taught them how to pay rent, use their EBT cards, and manage their finances.
